Here are a few tips on general topics that would be considered acceptable (or not) for the MCB Carnival.
Acceptable topics
These include, but are not limited to:
- DNA repair, transcription and translation
- Cell division
- Cell death (apoptosis)
- Secretory transport
- Signal transduction
- Cellular metabolism
- Research on cellular organelles (cilia et al.)
- Some biochemistry here and there!
- New (or even old) methods in molecular and cell biology
I strongly encourage you to submit posts about peer-reviewed research – and to register with researchblogging.org in case you do. You can talk about the topics about in relation to whatever animal, plant, or disease system you would like to consider.
Unacceptable topics
These include, but are not limited to:
- spam posts
- posts aimed at selling/advertising for products
- woo posts (sorry, those go to the Skeptics’ Circle, even if the woo in question is related to MCB)
- posts dealing with political topics (unless the main focus is ethics, as relating to recent MCB discoveries/applications)
- posts dealing with religious topics (see previous bullet point)
Posts will be accepted or rejected for a certain edition of the Calendar at the discretion of the host of the upcoming edition.

There are a few simple steps you need to follow if you wish to submit a post to this Carnival. Here is what you need to do.
